Fall Work Weekend 2011
Hey All!
As many of you know, there was quite a bit of damage to Chano during Hurricane Irene. There are trees down, chalets destroyed, etc. etc. Aside from storm damage, Chanco is in need of a little love, as one reunion guest commented. Buildings need to be powerwashed, rooms need to be painted, work needs to be done.
We would like to make this year's work weekend the most successful one yet! Come for a day, stay for a night, and give back to that little place that is much more than just sticks in the woods. The weekend is October 28-30. We will all be crashing in Watkins. Bring food. Leave your money at home. The weekend is free in exchange for our volunteering.
If you'd like to make a donation towards supplies, click the button below. For more information and/or to put your name on the list, email me at annkrannitz@gmail.com
Hope to see you all there!
2011 Reunion
Registration for the 2011 reunion has begun! The registration forms are attached (one is a Word document, one is a pdf ... pick the one you like best). The dates are September 23-25, with registration beginning after dinner on Friday. You can stay in either a conference room ($80 for the weekend) or a chalet ($40 for the weekend). Meal packages are $30 for everyone over the age of 5. As always, we can't wait to see you all!

This is from Perry's sister, Elizabeth:
As far as I know here is the information on all of the memorial arrangements for Perry, both in NYC and Virginia Beach. Please contact The Greenwich Village Funeral Home in NYC for details on time and location up there:
There will be a memorial service held in New York City on Wednesday as well as a service at Saint Aidan's Episcopal Church in Virginia Beach at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 26. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Perry Moore Hero Foundation, Box 253, 315 Bleecker St., New York, N.Y. 10014.

With much sadness ...
The CCAA has learned, with much sadness, that we have lost one of our special alumni. Perry Moore passed away this morning. We do not know the details, but please keep his family and friends in your prayers. We will let you know when we hear more. Perry, we love you! Caritas!
Please Help Chanco Get A New Rock Climbing Wall
Remember when you had to send in your Chanco registration the first day or you would be wait listed? Camper enrollment still climbed this past summer and the hope is that if we can continue to make upgrades to the facility, we will soon be seeing all the sessions full. HERE IS A WAY WE AS ALUMNI CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE RIGHT NOW! The past two summers Chanco has successfully run a fundraiser called "Change for Chanco" where the kids save their coins during the winter and spring and donate them at their session. An anonymous donor matches the total contributions. I continue reading »
