Another TOO brief moment in time - Thank you CCAA Board!!!!!!!!
Now that I think I may have finally cleared my head of the smell of roman candles, Boomer:
I just wanted to start a blog so that those of us who had an incredible time this weekend could thank those that made it all happen.
I will start by thanking Ann, Jenny, Tater, Chuck, Helen, Greg, Dave and Sara for a well thought out and rewarding weekend for certainly me and my family. For now all I can say is:
HOW MANY DAYS UNTIL THE NEXT REUNION??????!!!!!!!!!!!!

You know, it sounds so funny
You know, it sounds so funny to me when people say 'thank you' for a weekend like the one we just had. Not that I don't appreciate it - that's not it at all. I do! And I am so glad you, Evan, and everyone seemed to have a great time. I guess I feel funny because it is not something I do for attention or accolades. I do it because it is just part of the fabric of who I am, you know? I guess what I should say is, "It was a pleasure!" because the weekend truly was.
Rather than thanking me, I believe the thanks is owed to everyone who spent the weekend, or any part of it, enjoying one another in the spirit of Chanco. So, thank you for bringing your memories and your laughter. Thank you for being a part of the program and for helping with the projects on Saturday morning. Thank you to those of you who were able to bring your families (again or for the first time) - I hope we didn't scare them away forever. Thank you for your donations to help the CCAA with costs for the weekend - and help plan for Chanco's future. Thank you to those people who shared their talents in some way; for example, to Stan Sawyer for officiating on Sunday morning - because that seemed so right to me; to Allison St. Hillaire for taking on the kids' crafts so well on Saturday and to all the people who helped her; to Mary Peyton Swann and Linda Ryder Wolf's daughter (sorry - Rachel?) for heading up the boat rigging group; to Emma Ford for putting her heart and talent into an amazing slide show; to the guitarists who provided the music so we could sing the songs we have always loved; to everyone who did KP, especially in the mornings!!; and to every person I have forgotten to mention for each detail that made the weekend perfect.
I am so glad the reunion turned out well and that so many people were there to enjoy it. Of course, there were absent friends who were sorely missed... I look forward to hearing their stories at the next one!
I'll have to return to that feeling now - you know the one. It is the same one I felt after every retreat I ever attended. It is the same one I felt the day I left camp at the end of the summer. It is that longing - that empty feeling. I miss you guys.
Next time let's write "Warm Fuzzies."

Great idea Evan - and you're right, it was a brilliant weekend! The "foreigners" had a great time, and it was magical catching up with old friends.
Well done, and thank you, CCAA Board!!!
It was so worth it....
Could we have asked for a better weekend? Beautiful weather, so many old and new friends, campfires, singing, laughter, friendship (sorry, I think I am starting to plagiarize the Chanco song). I know for me the work was well worth it - and I am already looking forward to next year. I am already missing Chanco and everyone....Thanks to everyone for coming and taking part.
