So, I saw that there has only been one blog about the infamous blue gums story.  I was wondering if anyone remembers the whole story.  I feel like I have mutated the story over the years so badly that it wouldn't even resemble the genuine article.  What I do remember is his dragging foot, his hand (was he born with his sharpened bone exposed or something like that?), and his blue gums from eating berries (?).  The story had something to do with a sherrif's daughter (?) and a terrible accident. 

Like I said, this is probably a far cry from the real story, but I would love to try and recapture the genuine article.  Anyone care to enlighten me?
