Jenny Belote Wells

I started my camp experience as a staff brat at age 6. My mother was the camp nurse for one, two week, session and my brother John (then called Andy) and I each stayed a week. I'm the youngest of 5 and all of my siblings had been to camp before me, so I was destined to become a faithful Alumni. I loved my first experience with my mother and couldn't wait to become an official camper.

My oldest brother David was a Chanco enthusiast and I followed his footsteps. He was program director one of the years I attended as a camper and I dreamed of the days I could be part of staff. Each summer I anxiously waited for my time at Chanco. My experieces there were always incrediblt and I made many life long friends. I worked first at Jr. High session in 1991, then for an entire summer in 1992 as the dance instructor.

Since my Chanco years, I attended Radford University, followed a boy to Oregon, taught special education for 5 years in Oregon, Met my incredible husband Mark (since the boy I followed left little to be desired) and started my own glass business in Portland Oregon after working at a Non-Profit with a great glass scene.

I love my life in Oregon and Mark and I plan to start a family soon. I just purchased my plane ticket so I can reconnect with all of the alumni at the 40th year reunion. Whoo Hoo! I can't wait.
