Lora Glanville Saunders (Lori)

Hey!  I have been waiting for this.  Thank you Greg!

I went to Chanco as a camper for 8 years and as a counselor for 4 years.  Believe it or not I  was not fond of camp my first few years, but I kept going back until I loved it. I cannot express how much Chanco still means to me--although you guys understand.   One of my biggest memory is swimming across the James River.  I write about that experience every year with my class of 2nd graders whom I teach in West Chester, Ohio.  I have lived in Ohio for 6 years with my husband of 20 years and my two children.  My son, Brian, is 14 and my daughter, Amy Caroline, is 11.  They both go to Camp Procter which is our local Episcopal Camp.  It is so hard not to send them to Chanco, but they wanted to go where their friends go.  Ironically, my priest here is friends with the great Billy Taylor. Before living in Ohio we lived in Raleigh, North Carolina for 10 years.  I graduated from Radford in 1986 and then got my teaching certificate there in 1991.   I do go home to Virginia Beach often and I would love to attend a reunion. I am having the best time reading about everyone.

Lora!!!! Hi...B)

Me

I remember “Lori” all the way back from when we were campers together. I cherish the many fun times with you and other “beach people” while I was part of camp. I think my routine for when we signed up for staff days off was to look over at you and Marian then, “Bush Gardens! Bush Gardens! Come to Bush Gardens and Coooooooome to life!” We had a lot of great times.

Love and Spirit! - B)

Hello Lori / Lora

This site is pretty amazing. It is good to see some familiar names, isn't it?
