Over the last 60 year, after the discovery of plastic and it’s over use in all the food industry and other packaging for products. Garbage has been blown from the earth into the rivers to down into the ocean; 70% of it sinks and the rest of it has formed over the years a huge pile of plastic floating just underneath the surface of the ocean. It is a pile that is 60ft deep and is 2 times bigger than the entire state of California. This pile has over 100 million tons of plastic which is more than 2% of all the plastic made since the 50’s. About 80% of it comes from the surrounding counties such as the USA, China, Mexico, Japan and Australia and the rest is believed to come from the marine crafts.
