Sailing Instructor, Outtrip Leader
Hello! I am Chuck Alley, one time camper (late 70's), sailing instructor (1981) and out trip leader (1987 I think). I have not been around Chanco much for the last 20 years, so I am looking forward to reading some of your stories and memories!
By way of my bio since camp days, more or less in order:
Quit college, worked for awhile, joined the Coast Guard, moved many times, got married, did some more school, moved many more times, traveled a lot, left the CG, moved many more times, got divorced, moved some more, did some more schooling, got remarried, did some more school, moved a couple more times and finally, having moved 16 times in 15 years, graduated in 1995 (bsee) from UMD College Park.
Now after moving a few more times, I am a computer chip designer for a company near Durham NC.
I have an 11yo daughter, Marguerite who was Order of Chanco this year. My wife is Sarah Russell (was a councelor at Sr. High in '97). My sister, who should be on this website far more than me, is Cissy Alley who (FYI) should now be properly addressed as Marguerite Sr., now that my daughter has taken Marguerite from her!
I cannot tell you how happy I am to be involved with camp again. Chanco is a place that made a hugely positive difference in my life back in the day, and a place that fostered the values and spirituality that are the core of who I am today.
I wish I could post more pictures from my camp days, but I cannot (court order) but here I am now as a member of the CCAA board of directors.

You ARE handsome!
Wow - Chuck grew up!! I have so many memories of Chuck Alley - don't worry, Chuck, my lips are sealed! Seriously, I met so many amazing people at Camp in 7 years - Chuck Alley is one of the most memorable - Chuck, I'll never forget your performance in the Trial of Jesus Biblical simulation we did at camp during a youth group weekend! I loved it so much that I made up other simulations for future youth groups - we put Mary on trial for adultery at one retreat! Learned lots of good things from Chanco!! This is such a great site - I'm having a ball reading about all you youngsters!!
