The Connells
Last night in Raleigh, NC, the Connells performed a free concert as part of Raleigh Downtown Live. I was there, at the front of the stage as I have been on several occasions before. I thought back to my time at camp and with EYC and remember how many people listened to the Connells then. I thought of many of you, my fellow Chanco Oncers, fondly. I remember a concert at the Boathouse in Norfolk, and it being like an EYC reunion. Anyway, as I stood 10 feet from the Connells themselves, I called Meredith Becker now Kesling, knowing she would appreciate where I was, and it would bring a smile to her face at the opportunity to relive similar treasured memories. The Connells don't perform as often as they used to, the guys have families and other work, they are older, and you could say that there is both more and less of them. But it's nice to know that some things don't change!

hi blip!
it's great to hear from you! i loved reading what you had to write about bishop vest. i have a picture of the two of you when he dressed up as you ... and i will always remember what he said ... "mockery is the highest form of flattery."
as for the connells ... wow! i haven't heard them in years! and yes, they are very "chanco". although the summer we were chaletmates i remember listening to "copa cabana"! over and over and over again.

Copa Copa Cabana! I love it! How could I forget! I have that picture of the Bish and I framed. I am planning on attending the reunion, but I need to get my act together and register.
Hope to see you there!
