Boy Howdy, Was That Fun!
Whew! If you blinked, you missed it -- but what a blast the Fall Fest was. In true Chanco spirit, I reconnected with old friends -- not to mention old friendships ;) -- and met new ones (they were mostly old, too).
I'd like to send out a big thank you to Boomer, Talley, and all the many folks who worked fiendishly hard to get last weekend off the ground. THANK YOU!
We had a quick in-the-shadow-of-the-Manor-House meeting about establishing a Camp Chanco Alumni Association. If you weren't there, no worries. We'll be doing most on the work via e-mail and on the Chanco Once website. Stay tuned for the next few days -- by Wednesday (26 Sept) I should have the e-mail signup for the Establishment Committee. (I love making up commitee names.)
But for now, what kind of time did you have at the Fall Fest? Were you overwhelmed by the love? Appalled by Dan's late night fireworks? Like the food? Let it out, my friends. Write a blog entry, post it on a message board, or say it in the comments!

Another Thanks
I wanted to thank all who made this possible also, Tater, Boomer, Helen, Talley, Chuck, Dave, Lori, etc......I am sure there are many more and I would thank you too if I knew who you were...ha
It was my first Indian Night and what a great ceremony by Charlie and sermon by Dave.
I also enjoyed Stan's sermon on Sunday about the Celtic concept of places where heaven and earth were in close proximity.
I have only been to the new Chanco twice before this weekend on quick visits (never more than a few hours) and I am amazed how it really does have the spirit of the "old" Chanco. It is strange how it quickly in my mind it has taken the place of the old and now I see why it was chosen to become the new Chanco. The spirit is alive and well here.
It was great seeing everyone and thanks for more great memories.
