Fall Fest 2008
The smoke, some literal and some figurative, has barely cleared and already I am excited about planning next year. I am ready for a full weekend with more people and more down time just to hang out and share the same stories I have been telling over and over again for the last 15 years.
This past weekend was great and I think you would be hard pressed to find anyone who did not have a great time. The weather was perfect and the food was amazing. I was somewhat surprised at not finding Danny and Greg counted amongst the late-night crowd, but for the sake of discretion, I will not use this as a forum for poking fun at anyone. Plus I fear the inevitable retaliation. I can assure you there was a small but distinguished crowd enjoying the moonlight on the mighty James.
My only complaint is that there was not enough time to sit down with everyone I wanted to. There is a rapidly growing list in my head of people I only saw for a fleeting second that I really wanted to sit down with and find out what was going on. I am ready for 2008. Let's get it going. And judging by the turnout this year, I, for one, plan to make my reservations early.
Tater,I am looking forward
Tater,
I am looking forward to next year. Having just Moved to Tennessee it was hard to pack up the family for another 16 hour drive. I have note been to Chanco since the early 90s and I can't wait to show my family the place where I can say I met most of my life long friends.

Next year...
Chris,
You were sorely missed. I spoke briefly with your mom and dad, they were lamenting not having their boys around. We will make sure you are in full attendance next year. Cannot wait. Hope all is well in Tennessee.

Dan and Greg were up to mischef
Tater,
Didn't mean to disappoint, but those fireworks don't light themselves. Dan, Chuck Alley, and myself were playing the stay-up-late game back in the campsites. Yes, the campsites -- where the strong sleep without a/c. But we missed you too, Tater. Next time we'll have to somehow combine the smoke of fireworks with your presence -- hmmm, maybe you won't even have to be awake. ;)
