CCAA Update
Hey Chanco Alumni!
On behalf of the CCAA Board, I would like to give you an update on all that's going on with the CCAA.
First and foremost, mark your calendars for the Alumni Reunion: October 10-12. As many of you requested, this year the reunion will be a 2-night event. We plan to make it bigger and better than last year, so please spread the word!!!
Also, please mark your calendars for Grunt Week: Monday, June 9 - Sunday, June 15. We are asking all those who wish to donate time and sweat to come help get the camp ready for the summer. We will follow up soon with a list of materials needed as well as what exactly needs to be done. If you are able to help out with this week, please notify Jenny Alfano at jennyalfano@gmail.com or (804)379-5321.
We should be set up to enroll members in June. This means that we will start collecting the $30 dues, as voted on the CCAA bylaws. The dues will initially be used for the fees associated with setting up the CCAA. If you'd like to see how else the dues will be used, please read the bylaws posted online.
If you login to the Alumni Association section of this site, you will see that we are starting to establish mailing lists/committees. The committees are/will be as follows:
1) Finance Committee: will work on fundraising strategies for the Alumni Reunion
2) Chanco Chums Committee: for those who would like to send Chanco Chums to the staff at Chanco this summer. Phillip Bond will chair this
3) Program Committee: to decide on the programs/activities for the Alumni Reunion
4) Registration Committee: to take registration for the Alumni Weekend
For now, please sign up for the committees you would like to work on. We will see how many people we have on each, and will move them around as we see appropriate. We hope to have the committees underway by June.
Last but not least, be on the lookout for our Smoke Signals. We will be publishing online newsletters of all the latest happenings and the upcoming events. These will also include reports from the various committees.
