I Married Lisa Walker in 1983. We have two great kids one boy, one girl in their 20's We still see some chancsters regularly and think of all the rest often. I'm still playing the banjo and sailing boats. Lisa is a NICU nurse hoping to retire in a few years. Hail to the first family of Love!

Music, hope, politics

Chanco, for me, was a time of awakening in many ways. I was a teenager, and just beginning to feel the unique connection between music and hope for a better future. I felt the vibe in the air, the sense that we were the first generation that was cool about music, free expression, questioning authority, questioning the way things had always been done, and we wanted to change. I was born a poor black child. I remember the days sitting on the porch with my family singing and dancing, down in Mississippi.  My favorite meal was tuna fish salad on white bread with mayonnaise, a Tab and a couple of Twinkies.
